Backup & Restore

Keep your boards safe with JSON exports. Restore on any device running Kanbaroo.

Export

1. Open the toolbar and choose Export JSON.
2. Save the file somewhere you control (cloud drive, NAS, USB).
3. Optional: scan the QR export (if enabled) to quickly move small boards to another device.

Restore

1. Open Kanbaroo and choose Import JSON.
2. Select your backup file.
3. Boards appear exactly as saved, including lanes, tasks, and subtasks.

Best practices

• Version your backups (e.g., kanbaroo-boards-2025-09-22.json).
• Keep at least two copies in different places.
• Before clearing site data or switching devices, export first.
